Specialty orofacial pain care, from anywhere in California
Board-certified orofacial pain specialists are scarce statewide — patients in Sacramento, Fresno, Bakersfield, Lake Tahoe, and Northern California often have none nearby at all. Telehealth makes it possible to be seen without a full day of travel.
A practice priority, not an afterthought
Many Californians — in Sacramento, the Central Valley, Lake Tahoe, the North State, and the Central Coast, among other regions — live hours from the nearest board-certified orofacial pain specialist. For chronic TMJ, headaches, nerve pain, and sleep-related concerns, that distance often means years of second-guessing, referrals that go nowhere, and treatments that don't quite fit.
Telehealth is a core part of how The Orofacial Pain Specialty Group practices. Most of what makes a specialist consultation useful — a careful history, imaging review, differential diagnosis, and a written plan — translates well to a secure video visit. Telehealth visit pricing is listed on the fees & insurance page.

What to expect from a telehealth visit
Intake forms, medication list, and prior imaging/records are gathered so the visit itself is focused on you.
Initial visits run longer than follow-ups, giving enough time for a complete history and a written plan you can act on.
A written summary, working diagnosis, and a plan — including any local referrals needed for exams, imaging, or procedures.
Care is limited to patients physically located in California at the time of the visit, per state licensure.
