Board-certified orofacial pain care, in the heart of San Francisco.
Led by Dr. Benjamin Kruman, DDS, DABOP — a UCLA-trained, board-certified orofacial pain specialist — The Orofacial Pain Specialty Group (The OPS Group) treats patients living with TMJ disorders, chronic headaches, nerve pain, bruxism, and sleep-related breathing issues: the conditions that too often fall between dentistry and medicine.
Specialist care built around each patient.
Board-certified specialist
Fewer than 300 dentists nationwide hold Diplomate status with the American Board of Orofacial Pain.
Patient-centered care
Every visit starts with the full history — your goals and constraints shape the plan before any treatment begins.
An integrated approach
Evidence-based, non-surgical treatment first, drawing on dentistry, medicine, sleep, and behavioral health together.
Care throughout California
HIPAA-compliant video visits for consultations, second opinions, and follow-ups anywhere in the state.
Specialty care for the conditions that live between dentistry and medicine.
These conditions rarely show up in isolation — jaw dysfunction can drive headaches, disrupt sleep, and radiate into nerve pain, which is exactly why a single specialist trained across all of them, rather than a referral loop between separate providers, tends to get to the answer faster.

Dr. Benjamin Kruman, DDS — one of only a handful of DABOP-certified specialists in San Francisco.
Trained at UCLA's Orofacial Pain & Dental Sleep Medicine residency where he served as Chief Resident, Dr. Kruman built the Orofacial Pain Specialty Group around a single idea: complex head, face, and jaw pain deserves a dedicated specialist, not another referral loop.
He now teaches at the UCSF School of Dentistry, lectures at universities, dental societies, and study clubs throughout California, and serves as an expert witness on medical-legal cases.
